Robert “Bob” Jay Reemts, age 67, of Port Ludlow, WA died at home on June 14, 2024 surrounded by loved ones after his long battle with prostate cancer. Bob was born January 18, 1957 to Lester and Beverly Reemts in Lincoln, Nebraska. Bob graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Bob loved life. He lived big and loved even bigger. He never met a stranger and it wouldn’t take more than five minutes of knowing him before he was telling you one of his lavish stories, or bragging about one of his kids. If he thought something was funny you were sure to hear it at least 5 more times and he would laugh as big each time he told it. He made every one of his kids’ friends feel like they belonged in his home, and he was never happier than when he was feeding a group of hungry teenagers. Despite his size, children fell in love with him instantly. His nephew recently wrote in a letter to Bob that said he was “quite fluent in the language of ‘kid’ and an utter joy to be around.”
Bob and his wife, Jenny, loved traveling and in his last year he went to Singapore, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Japan, China, and Australia. Bob was generous with compliments, a real gentleman in every sense of the word, and those he loved knew it because he made a point to tell them every chance he could.
Bob is survived by his wife Jenny, his children Connor, Sean (Annie), Jackson, and Grace (Austin), sisters Linda and Leslie, his best friend Mark Nelson, and his “other mother”, Gaye Nelson.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice Foundation for Jefferson Healthcare whose mission is to educate our communities about the value and benefits of hospice services. They helped Bob die with comfort and dignity and for that his family is eternally grateful.
There are no words sufficient enough to honor Bob and his legacy.
How lucky we were to love Bob and to be loved by him.
