In Daniel’s early years, he developed a love of fishing; a hobby he started with his Dad, Butch and enjoyed with his best friends. He enjoyed playing little league baseball and later, played for Bucholtz High School. After graduating from high school in 2000, he went to Santa Fe College.
In following his passion for adventure and the outdoors, Daniel spent several seasons commercial fishing. It was in 2001, while fishing in Alaska, that he first met his lovely wife Amy.
2006 was a pivotal year in Daniel’s life in which he joined the United States Marine Corp in May, and married the love of his life, Amy, in August. While stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, he obtained his private pilot license. Daniel proudly served his country in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He was awarded many commendations, including two Purple Hearts and the Navy Achievement Award.
Shortly after retiring from the Marine Corp in 2012, Daniel moved his family to Washington and worked at the Naval Undersea Warfare in Keyport, WA as a Logistics Management Specialist. He was admired and respected by his co-workers and military friends.
Daniel was a loving husband to his wife Amy, and dedicated father to their children, Aidan, Mason and Landon. They enjoyed fishing, snowboarding and taking summer trips to Florida. When he wasn’t helping coach the boys’ baseball, flag football and basketball teams, he spent time on his tractor improving their 11-acre home. He was also involved in his work’s STEM program by volunteering at his children’s schools.
Daniel is preceded in death by his father Hurl R. “Butch” Mullins.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Amy Lindemuth Mullins and children Aidan, Mason and Landon all from WA., mother Elizabeth “Betsy” (Doug) Potocik of FL, step mother Sharon Mullins of FL, half-sister Kristine (Richard) Gonzales of CO, and numerous extended family.
