Diana Margaret Cronin

May 10, 1962 — October 16, 2024

On October 16, 2024, Diana Cronin came to the end of her journey here on earth. Even in the few days before her death, she was looking forward to whatever the next adventure might be.

Diana Margaret Cronin was born on May 10, 1962, to Robert and Millie Cronin. She is survived by her mother and her two sisters, Janice Pfeffer and Emily Cronin.

Diana was an adventurer at heart whether that be on the Florida coast where she graduated with a degree in Oceanographic Technology or when she was leading bicycle tours across the country or hiking and biking the trails near and far from her home in Chimacum, WA.

Diana was a talented ceramic artist. Vivid color was her joy and the trademark of her ceramic creations which she started making in the year 2000. Her work was collected in the Pacific Northwest and beyond and is loved and cherished by many. She was represented by galleries and participated in many art shows and home studio tours. At least once a year, Diana would host open studio events on her own property and invite fellow artists to join her. She was generous in that way...with her space...with her knowledge...with her time. She was a bright light, fun-loving and the spark of any gathering.

Diana was also an avid gardener. Like her ceramics, her garden was filled with color, Dahlias being her favorite. She routinely gifted beautiful bouquets to lucky recipients. Many hours were spent outside with her cat, Max, weeding, watering, and enjoying the spectacular view from her yard. Her home, clothing and even the art displayed were colorful…indicative of how she lived her life.

In 2008, Diana was diagnosed with breast cancer. A true warrior, she battled the disease with unwavering determination, exemplified by her ascent of Hurricane Ridge on her bicycle after chemotherapy.

Diana was unique and she will be missed by us all. She was a caring daughter and loving sister. She touched many lives and had a large circle of friends and neighbors who, along with her family, loved her. As long as we keep telling the stories of her generous spirit and zest for life...of her adventures in nature...of her bicycle trips...of her love…we will keep her close to us.
