She was born December 30, 1932 in Astoria, OR to parents Harold Gudschinsky Judge & Lillian Hansen Judge. This small family moved to Seattle, then settled in Ballard where they established Judge's Shoe Store downtown. She was joined by siblings Helen, John, & Susan. While attending Ballard High School, she helped at the family business, worked at the Ballard Public Library, & was a "Candy Striper" at the Ballard Hospital. Learning piano & violin when young sparked a lifelong passion, & she graduated from Univ of Wash in 1954 with a degree in Music. She began as a school teacher in Wenatchee then moved to Quilcene Elementary. While at a local square dance she met Marvin Tarr, they soon married, & raised children Eugene, Peter, & Irene. She was an active mother & enjoyed many activities including hiking, camping, & traveling. She played violin in the P.A. Symphony Orchestra, provided piano & violin lessons, played music at nursing homes, for weddings, funerals, & church services. In middle age, she became a born-again believer in Jesus Christ & never regretted her decision to follow Jesus. For many decades she actively served in ministries at Quilcene Assembly of God including music, women's, children's, Sunday school, & others. Many thanks to church friend & recent caregiver Margaret Johnson, Aide Sandy Frantz, & staff of Assured Hospice for making a positive difference. Special thanks to granddaughter Leah RN who helped in many ways including providing care. Much thanks to sister Sue with whom she shared a special bond & mutual faith in Jesus.
