He moved to Port Townsend in 1973 to help his brother Leroy. He married Colleen Sidwell January 5, 1974 and made a home in Port Hadlock. He did his electrical apprenticeship with Delta Electric and worked for 10 years in the electrical industry. He went on to start his own RV business in 1983. Sonny’s Rv has been his life for 37 years. The business will continue with his family at the helm. In his off time if he wasn’t doing things with his family, he was volunteering for the Rhododendron Festival. For many years he was doing needed repairs to the float trailer, hauling the float to festivals, and assisting on float building when needed. He loved to square dance and went to many lessons to help angel new members. He also was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints where he was always serving the lord by volunteering his time helping others. He enjoyed going to Idaho to 4 x 4 with his side by side in the mountains near Salmon. His brothers and him spent many hours just roaming around the mountains. A celebration of life will be held at a later date this summer. Memorial donations can be made in Gary Jensen’s name to the Rhododendron Festival PO Box 766 Port Townsend, Wa 98368. He loved this organization and would love to see it continue for many years to come.
