Joseph Edward Kronenberg Sr.

January 18, 1943 — October 27, 2023

Joseph “Joe” E. Kronenberg Sr., 80 years of age, passed away on October 27, 2023 in Port Townsend, Washington. He was born in Spokane, WA on January 18, 1943 to Joseph W. Kronenberg and Saloma (Oma) Kronenberg.

Upon graduating from Shadle Park High School in Spokane, Joe joined the U.S. Marine Corps completing four years of service, which included a tour of duty in Vietnam as part of a helicopter aircrew. Joe was very proud of his service as a Marine and wore his red insignia cap until his last days. After his military service, he returned to Washington State and began a career in sales, eventually settling in the Bothell area where he retired and found comfort in the fellowship of his church and Bible study. Prior and after his retirement, Joe used his skills in woodworking to make lovely pieces of furniture and was talented in leather goods.

Joe is survived by his wife of 35 years, Trudy (Long) Kronenberg of Nordland; his sons, Joseph Jr. (Idaho), Neil (Wenatchee), and daughter Amy (Bothell); he is also survived by a sister, Kay Proelss; 2 nieces, Linda Robinson and Laurae Young of the Spokane area; 12 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. Joe will be remembered for his calm demeanor, and his funny (dad-like) jokes which had his family laughing until the end.

A military burial and memorial service is to be held at Soundview Cemetery, Nordland, WA in August. Family and friends are invited to share memories of Joe and sign the online guestbook.
