Kathleen Anne Johnson

April 26, 1951 — November 18, 2020

Kathleen Anne Johnson went to be with the Lord on the morning of November 18th. She passed peacefully at home with her family by her side after fighting a long battle with cancer. Her life centered on her faith in God, family and friends. Kathy is survived by her husband Nels “Bob” Johnson, four children and their spouses, sister and brother, eight grandchildren and great grandchild. Kathy was born Kathleen Anne Guthrie in Port Townsend, WA at St. John’s Hospital in 1951. During her early years, while growing up near Chimacum Creek, she enjoyed raising animals, participating in 4H events, swimming at “Bud’s Beach”, riding horses at her Aunt Val’s, and playing in the creek. While attending Chimacum High School she met the love of her life, Bob Johnson. They were married in 1969 following high school and remained devoted to one another for the next 51 years. After their wedding, Kathy moved to Texas with Bob who was stationed at the Navy base in Corpus Christi. While in Texas, they enjoyed having game nights with friends, survived hurricane Celia and had their first of four children. When Bob’s service commitment was up, they returned to the Pacific Northwest and eventually settled in Chimacum where they had three more children together. Kathy loved spending time with family and friends. She was generous with her time and threw her energy into coordinating gatherings for celebrations of all of life’s events. She never missed an opportunity to send birthday cards to hundreds of family members and friends each year. In doing so, she let each person know that they were important and loved. Kathy also loved to travel, but mostly she enjoyed traveling to connect with people she had not seen in a while. Relationships were priceless to her. If she got to see some sights along the way all the better but connecting with loved ones was always her first priority. Kathy was a deeply spiritual person with a strong faith in God. She shared this faith with friends and family and always encouraged those around her to grow in their faith and relationship with Jesus. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother Alice and father Vince. Her gentle heart and thoughtfulness will be missed greatly.
