Marsi Jane Hope passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 9, 2025 at her home in Port Hadlock, Washington.
She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 5, 1942, to Sibley Ten Hoor and Marjorie (Mackey) Ten Hoor. She attended Michigan State University before marrying and moving to Stamford, Connecticut where she raised her family. Once her children were grown, she relocated to Port Townsend, WA and let the spirit of adventure she inherited from her father take her on travels around the world. Her destinations varied greatly, from the tundra in the arctic, to the jungles in Borneo, to the Masai in Tanzania, to the Holy Land of Jerusalem, the woman did it all.
She is survived by her children, Gregory Hope and Kelly Hope; and her grandchildren, William Hope, Jessica Hope, and Zachary Hope. Her oldest daughter Tracey Hope predeceased her.
Marsi extended kindness and compassion to all those she encountered. Her heart was full of gold. A service to celebrate her life will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Chimacum, WA at noon on Saturday, March 22nd. Family and friends are invited to share memories of Marsi and sign the online guestbook.
