Mary Lou Sanok

March 3, 1942 — November 25, 2020

Mary Lou Sanok (nee McManus), loving wife and mother of four children, passed away on November 25, 2020, in Port Townsend, WA. Her husband, Gregory Sanok, who passed away in 2012, was a United States Coast Guard Commander. She is survived by her children and seven grandchildren, Christopher Sanok (Joanna, Pascale, and Peter), Catherine Sanok (Will and Sylvia), Cynthia Goodman (Eliana and Zachary), and Craig Sanok, as well as her sister, Mrs. Margaret O’Connell, her nephew James O’Connell, and his children. Born in New Jersey on March 3, 1942, to Louis McManus, she was raised by her uncle and aunt, Chester and Helen Sikinski of Kearney, NJ. A graduate of Montclair State University, Mary Lou worked for many years as a math teacher. In her later years, she collected dolls and was devoted to her dog, Tuxedo. A spirited and fun-loving person, she liked to crank out music on her player piano and was ready to call almost any gathering a party. A stranger to no one, she enjoyed meeting new people and regaling them with stories of moving around the country as a military family when her children were young.
