Miles Kuhn Iii

December 30, 1956 — April 6, 2022

Miles Kuhn III December 30, 1956 – April 6, 2022 Miles Kuhn III was born to Miles Kuhn Jr and Latisha Ann Clark in Kansas City, MO. He passed from this earth very suddenly and unexpectedly in St. Michael’s Medical Center in Silverdale of a heart attack. Miles grew up in Kansas City and Adrian Missouri. He moved to Tustin, CA to finish High School and graduated in 1975. He joined the US Navy in 1977 and was stationed in Bremerton, Whidbey Island and Point Mugu, CA before being deployed to the Antarctica. From there he went to Guam and was on the USS Nimitz in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm. He then circled back to Whidbey Island where he retired in 1997 after 20 years of service. While in Bremerton in 1979, Miles met Rickie and they married in 1980. They had one daughter, Brandie. They celebrated 42 years of marriage in March 2022. He and Rickie led a quiet life, preferring the solitude of home, especially after the world changed because of COVID. Miles had many interests and hobbies over the years. He’s raised dogs and kept cats, worked a dairy farm and bred Polled Hereford cattle. He kept beautiful discus fish. Miles was a golfer, scuba diver, Nascar fan and a huge Kansas City Chiefs supporter. Recently the family was very saddened when their dog of over 17 years succumbed to the perils of old age. He definitely had a soft spot for creatures. He and Rickie have been feeding stray cats in their neighborhood since moving to Port Hadlock in 2014. Miles was preceded in death by his brother, Steve and his father and mother and Jasper, the dog. He is survived by his wife Rickie, daughter Brandie (Sean and sons, Blake and Aiden) Henlin of Oregon, step mother Gail of Nevada, sister Julie (Mark) Stephens of Missouri, nieces and nephew, Rosey and Khalid. Steve’s daughter Stevie Ann of Oklahoma. The family will have a private memorial service.
