Robert Eugene Gooch, Jr.

Robert Eugene Gooch, Jr., who was born to Robert and Frances Gooch on December 16, 1951, passed away peacefully with family by his side. On May 12th of 2021 a beautiful heart stopped beating. Bob was a wonderful caring man who worked hard to take care of his family and was married to his wife, Sandy for 48 years. He was a loving father to Bill, Katherine, Tabetha and Stryker; Grandfather to Taylor, Brandon, Sage, Ocean, Ariana, Lauren, Kylie, Alyssa, Olivia, Robert, and Landon; Great Grandfather to Ryleigh. Bob was a dedicated worker and retired in 2007 as a Machinist from Georgia-Pacific after serving 25 years with the company. He enjoyed many hobbies such as clamming, crabbing, fishing, was a skilled wood worker, loved playing golf and always wore Old Guys Rule attire. Bob is missed dearly by his wife, Sandy and his children and grandchildren, all who believe he is the best person they’ve ever met. He was a soulmate, best friend, amazing father, and grandfather. In his final hours he demonstrated his love by donating organs after he passed. He will be loved forever by his family and touched by friends he met throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association Better Breathers Club in Port Townsend, Washington (action.lung.gov) in an effort to provide resources for those diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
